Restoring Access After Catastrophic Flooding
In 2019, catastrophic flooding devastated West Feliciana Parish—washing out roads, clogging waterways with silt and debris, and isolating entire communities. Recovery teams faced steep challenges in remote and inaccessible areas. Parish officials turned to Dynamic for an innovative recovery solution that restored access, reduced future flood risks, and helped strengthen community resilience.
Dynamic’s Innovative Approach
Dynamic mobilized immediately, establishing onsite workforce housing and deploying specialized equipment to overcome unique challenges:
- Onsite Workforce Housing – Dynamic housed our team on a 26-person housing barge with full utilities (power, water, septic). We provided meal service, laundry, and custodial staff to allow personnel to remain on location, maximizing efficiency and minimizing costly travel delays.
- Navigating Difficult Terrain – We deployed off-road and amphibious vehicles to navigate the terrain and contracted marine shipping barges to deliver equipment and materials.
- Road Repairs & Access Solutions – Dynamic repaired 15 miles of roadways, secured land-use agreements with property owners, and set up staging areas for trucks and excavation equipment.
- Debris Removal & Disposal – We cleared thousands of trees using specialized equipment, while grinding, chipping, or incinerating more than 70,000 cubic yards of material.
- Drainage Restoration – Dynamic removed silt and debris from over 100,000 linear feet of drainage channels and 1,000 feet of Lower Polly Creek, restoring water flow to the Mississippi River.
